Because instruments vary, choose the option that best protects your instrument and meets our limits.
Cabin (small instruments)
- Eligibility: Must fit under the seat or in the overhead and not exceed 7 kg; the case must fit within cabin bag limits.
- Counting: If carried in the cabin, it counts as one cabin bag.
- Protection: Use a custom-built or rigid, padded case.
Checked (large or heavier instruments)
- When to check: If your instrument exceeds cabin limits or is particularly bulky/heavy.
- Packing: Use a hard case suitable for air travel; pad inside to prevent movement.
- Liability: You may be asked to sign a Limited Release acknowledging fragile nature/finish.
Cellos & very large instruments
- Cabin: Due to space and safety limitations, cellos cannot be accepted in the cabin (no extra-seat option).
- Checked: Cellos and similarly large instruments must be checked in a hard case. At check-in: Expect a Limited Release form.
