Below are common sports items we accept when packed appropriately and within size/weight limits (200 x 80 x 75 cm; 23 kg), plus quick packing tips.
Note: Sports equipment counts as one of your checked bags. If you need to purchase checked baggage, you can do so via Manage Booking or at the airport.
Golf
- What’s allowed: Golf bag with clubs, balls and shoes.
- Pack it right: Hard case or well-padded travel cover; secure club heads and remove/secure loose accessories.
Cycling (non-motorised)
- What’s allowed: Bicycle in a bike box/bag.
- Pack it right:Turn handlebars sideways, remove/secure pedals, protect the derailleur, slightly deflate tyres, pad fork ends. Note: E-bikes/batteries have strict restrictions—see Dangerous Goods.
Surf & water sports
- What’s allowed: Surfboards, bodyboards, kiteboards, SUPs (within limits).
- Pack it right: Remove fins where possible, pad nose/tail, protect rails. Note: Some windsurf masts/boards exceed limits—check with us first.
Field & court sports
- What’s allowed: Cricket, rugby, soccer, hockey, tennis, squash, badminton, netball, basketball gear.
- Pack it right: Secure sticks/bats, cover sharp points/edges, bundle loose items.
Fishing
- What’s allowed: Rods in a rigid tube, reels and tackle packed securely.
- Pack it right: Keep hooks covered inside a tackle box; pad fragile parts.
Scuba diving
- What’s allowed: Regulators, BCDs, fins, masks (properly packed).
- Not allowed/regulated: Cylinders (tanks) must be completely empty with valve open/removed and may be refused if not verifiably empty. Spearguns must be unloaded; cover tips securely.
Archery
- What’s allowed: Bows and arrows in a hard case.
- Pack it right: Cover all sharp points; secure sights and accessories.
- Packing tips:
- Use a hard-shell case or purpose-built padded bag.
- Fill empty spaces with soft padding (towels/clothes/foam).
- Label your case inside and out.
- Remove or secure detachable parts (fins, pedals, bow sights, reel handles).
- Keep essential tools (Allen keys, fin keys) in your checked bag (not in the cabin).
