We love getting you (and your gear) where you’re going. Here’s how to travel with sporting equipment and musical instruments on LIFT.
The essentials
Size & weight limits (per item): up to 200 × 80 × 75 cm and 23 kg.
If over the limits: a Heavy Bag charge may apply, or the item may need to be couriered at your own expense (depending on size/weight).
How it’s counted: Most items travel as checked baggage and count toward your checked allowance.
Booking & fees
Add bags in Manage Booking. If your item exceeds size/weight limits, additional charges may apply at the airport. Some special items (e.g., certain battery-powered equipment) may be restricted or not accepted—see “Dangerous Goods & batteries” below.
Availability
Carriage is subject to space and operational limitations. Please pack correctly and arrive a little earlier than usual for check-in.
Packing & liability: Use a hard case or robust, padded bag. Secure or remove loose parts and cover any sharp edges.
We handle your gear with care, but LIFT cannot accept liability for damage to fragile or improperly packed items or for minor/cosmetic wear.
Dangerous Goods & batteries (important)
Lithium batteries, CO₂ cartridges, fuel canisters, storm matches, and pressurised cylinders are regulated or prohibited. E-bikes and motorised rideables (with integrated lithium batteries) are generally not accepted as checked baggage. If your equipment uses lithium batteries or pressurised gas, please check with us before you fly.
Check-in & collection
Allow extra time at the airport for screening and handling. You may be directed to collect your item at the oversize baggage area.
