The following forms of identity documents are permitted:

 

  1. Original South African National Green Identification Book (or physical‚ certified copy thereof that is no older than 3 (three) months).
  2. Original South African National Identification Card (or physical‚ certified copy thereof that is no older than 3 (three) months).
  3. Original Valid South African National Driver's License (or physical‚ certified copy thereof that is no older than 3 (three) months).
  4. An original expired South African National Driver's License which is not more than 3 (three) months expired will also be accepted but no copies thereof.
  5. Original valid International or South African Passports including emergency / temporary travel documents such as asylum‚ Red Cross or International Organization for Migration (IOM) papers‚ but no copies thereof.
  6. Original Expired international or South African Passports will be accepted provided they are no more than 3 (three) months expired‚ but no copies thereof.
  7. Original Birth Certificates abridged or unabridged or physical (or certified copy thereof that is no older than 3 (three) months.
  8. Original Temporary Identification Documents are permitted provided they are accompanied by an affidavit which is no older than 3 (three) months but no copies thereof.
  9. Adult(s) travelling with a child who is not his/her biological or adopted child:
    1. To protect children‚ in instances where an adult is travelling with a child who is not his/her biological or adopted child‚ the following documents must be produced in order to fly with us:
      • When travelling Domestically (within the borders of South Africa)
      • Original Birth Certificate‚ abridged or unabridged or physical (or certified copy thereof that is no older than 3 (three) months.
      • When travelling outside of South Africa
        • Original Birth Certificate abridged or unabridged or physical (or certified copy thereof that is no older than 3 (three) months).
        • An affidavit from the parents or legal guardians of the child‚ confirming their consent for the accompanying adult to travel with the child as well as the purpose of travel.
        • Certified copies of the identity documents or passports of the parents or legal guardians of the child.
        • Contact details of the parents or legal guardians of the child‚ which may be included in the affidavit referred to above.
    2. Where an adult or adults are travelling with a group of children‚ such adult(s) must have these documents for each child travelling as well as a letter from the trip organisers‚ giving authority to the adult/s to travel with the children‚ should this be applicable.

      There are regulations issued in terms of relevant and applicable laws from time to time‚ including the Immigration Act‚ 2002 (Act No. 13 of 2002)‚ which will apply to children travelling. Since such regulations are subject to change from time to time‚ it remains your responsibility to ensure that you familiarise yourself with the most current and up to date regulations applicable to your travel before making a Booking. LIFT shall endeavour to make such information available on its website and at the LIFT Airport Counters

    3. For children under 18 years old‚ a South African National Green Identification Book (or a certified copy thereof that is no older than 3 months) or a South African National Identification Card (or a physical certified copy thereof that is no older than 3 months) or Original Valid International/National Passports (including emergency / temporary travel documents – e.g. asylum‚ Red Cross‚ or International Organisation for Migration (IOM) papers) or Original Birth Certificates‚ abridged or unabridged (or a physical certified copy thereof that is no older than 3(three months). Temporary Identification documents are permitted provided they are accompanied by an affidavit which is no older than three months.


PLEASE NOTE: Digital copies of any form of identification will not be accepted. Failure to present identification for each passenger‚ including minors and infants‚ as outlined above will result in a denied boarding.
